Why Perfumes Aren’t Filled To the Brim

Customers often don’t get satisfied with their purchase and complain that their perfumes do not fill up to the brim. Some people are of the opinion that perfume vendors sip out the liquid to resell or for their personal use.

I’ve had to explain that there is a general perfume canning process that perfume manufacturers need to comply with. It is vital that there be a space between the liquid in a bottle and the neck of that bottle.

This space allows for the expansion of the liquid as temperatures change, or during any type of transportation of the bottle.

This can only be achieved if the perfume bottle is bigger than the proposed size of the content in the bottle. For instance, the size of the bottle to be used for a 50ml perfume must be able to take at least 65ml -70ml liquid content. This gap will prevent the liquid from being compressed and/or leaking due to movements during transportation.

I hope we now know better and can trust our vendors more with our purchase.
